"Ever since the first successes of cultivating Cubanseed Corojo wrapper outside of Cuba, manufacturers have been impatient to get their hands on this tobacco. However, since only a handful of regions in Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras have had any luck with their attempts to raise this notoriously difficult leaf, this impatience has been tempered by limited supply and high cost. We must confess to our own impatience. As soon as we realized the potential of Corojo, like so many others, we invested heavily in its cultivation. Since the harvest four years ago, like the others, we’ve also had to sit tight, waiting for the tobacco to reach maturity. " |
